Yoga for Athletes

The Himalayan Institute and Yoga for the Total Athlete are teaming up to bring the benefits of yoga to athletes.  We offer classes to develop the total athlete.

Our yoga classes condition the body and mind by:

  • addressing typical muscle imbalances
  • create strength, balance and flexibilty
  • introduce breath work and its influence on the nervous system
  • Practice techniques that help relax and focus the mind.

We also offer programming to condition the athletic mind for peak performance by

  • Teaching and practicing proper breathing to assist mental focus, recovery, and emotional control
  • Providing a working knowledge of the nervous system and learning techniques to manage stress both on and off the court
  • Creating personalized visualizations to support skill based learning
  • Defining The Zone and offering tools to access it more frequently
